If you're already involved in undergraduate research and want to help impact the next group of undergraduate researchers here at FSU, you should apply to be an Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) Leader!

Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) Leader applications for the 2026-2027 school year will open on Sept 17, 2025. This is a great opportunity if you are interested in gaining teaching experience while positively impacting UROP students’ research journeys at FSU. UROP Leaders are responsible for teaching the new UROP students about the process of research and preparing them for their research assistantship and poster presentation at the Undergraduate Research Symposium. We are particularly looking for UROP Leaders who have experience conducting research in the engineering, nursing, humanities, and creative arts fields.

Eligibility Requirements

  • students must be in at least their 2nd year at FSU 
  • must have at least 1.5 years left at FSU
  • have undergraduate research experience 
  • a minimum 3.25 GPA

Note: any rising 2nd or 3rd year student who has research experience can apply to become a UROP Leader!

Applications to apply to be a UROP Leader are due October 9, 2025, at 11:59pm. If you have any questions, please email the UROP Team at cre-urop@fsu.edu.

Join us for our UROP Leader Information Session on Thursday, October 2 from 3:30-4:30 PM if you want to learn more about becoming a UROP Leader. The session will be in hybrid format. You can attend in person in the Honors, Scholars, and Fellows (HSF) House, classroom 3008, or attend via Zoom. Registration for Zoom is required.
